University of Economics in Bratislava (EUBA)
Why students choose it
- The only university in the country devoted entirely to economics and business; employers in Bratislava — banks, audit firms, IT and shared-service centres — know the EUBA degree well.
- Plenty of internships in the capital: career centre, job fairs, partnership programmes with business.
- Double degrees and exchange programmes with universities in France, Germany, Austria, Finland, the USA; an active Erasmus+ network.
- Study in Slovak is tuition-free; some courses and whole programmes are available in English.
- Campus in Petržalka with dormitories, a library and sports halls; convenient connection to the city centre.
- Faculty of Applied Languages and Faculty of International Relations — for those combining economics with languages and diplomacy.

How international students apply
- Application deadlines
- Bachelor's applications — usually by the end of March; if places remain, faculties announce an additional round in summer. Dates for 2027/2028 — on the university and faculty websites.
- Entrance exams
- In recent years EUBA has admitted to most bachelor's programmes based on secondary-school results without a written exam; earlier a test in economics, mathematics and a foreign language was held — check the current year's conditions.
- Faculty of Applied Languages — may test the level of two foreign languages.
- English-taught programmes — proof of English level (certificate or interview).
- Documents
- online application on the EUBA website and the application fee;
- nostrified school certificate — the recognition decision (or proof of filing) by the deadline;
- official translation of the certificate into Slovak;
- proof of Slovak level as required by the faculty (usually B1–B2).
International students apply on the same terms. We match the faculty to the student's interests, handle nostrification and the application — see turnkey admission and the route after the 11th grade.
Based on euba.sk and the faculty websites as of 08/2026 — check the 2027/2028 deadlines and procedure before applying.
Dormitory and costs
EUBA has its own dormitories in Bratislava: the Horský park student campus, the dormitory on Dolnozemská cesta next to the main building and others. A place for a first-year student costs roughly 90–170 € per month depending on the building and room (2026, check the EUBA dormitory website). Application — after admission, usually in summer; international students get places on equal terms.

EUBA or economics at a classical university?
Economics and management are also taught at classical universities in Slovakia — for example at the Faculty of Management of Comenius University or the Faculty of Economics of Matej Bel University. What sets EUBA apart is that its entire infrastructure — from the library to the career centre — is built around economics: more specialised programmes, dedicated faculties (finance, commerce, business informatics, international relations) and the widest network of business partners in the capital. If the goal is banking, finance, consulting or international trade, EUBA is usually the first choice.
