About Smart Study Slovakia: the people behind your admission

Who we are and what we do

Smart Study is a team of coordinators in Bratislava helping school leavers and graduates from Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Belarus and other countries enter Slovakia's public universities and colleges. We know the Slovak education system from the inside and walk the route — recognition of documents, application, visa, dormitory — with a new group of students every year.

Our main services: university admission after high school (bachelor's and master's), colleges and grammar schools after 9th grade and turnkey admission support — from choosing a university to moving into the dormitory. The schools we recommend are listed in the university catalogue and the college catalogue.

The coordinators

Each student works with one coordinator — the person you message on day one and the person who meets you in Bratislava. No hand-offs between departments: one person knows your whole story.

How we work

1. Consultation

   We go through your situation: grade, certificate or diploma, country, preferred field, level of Slovak or English. We tell you honestly where you can realistically get in and what the risks are.
2. Admission plan

   A shortlist of universities or colleges, an application calendar and a document list for your country — built around the 2027 deadlines.
3. Documents and recognition

   Translations, apostilles, recognition of the school certificate, application forms — we check every paper before it is filed.
4. Applications and exams

   We submit applications to the chosen schools, prepare you for entrance exams where they exist and track the admission committees' replies.
5. Visa and residence permit

   The visa and the study residence permit are handled by the lawyers of AXORA Legal — the same group of companies as Smart Study.
6. Arrival and settling in

   Dormitory, pick-up, registration, the first weeks in a new country — your coordinator stays in touch after enrolment.

We stay with you throughout your studies

The most important thing to know about Smart Study: enrolment is the middle of our work, not the end. After you get the university decision and arrive in Slovakia, your coordinator does not disappear. Document renewals, dormitories and moves, transfers between programmes, 'where do I take this paper' — students message us about all of this in their second, third and fourth year. And they get an answer.

Honestly: staying close is a habit, not a contract clause. First we are your support in an unfamiliar country, then your people in Bratislava — and with many families, over the years, we become friends. Being invited to graduations is the best review we get.

Smart Study is a community

We are not just an admission agency — we are a student community. Everyone who enrols with Smart Study joins it: we introduce freshers to each other and to senior students who already know where the best dorm wifi is and how the library works.

For parents this means one simple thing: your child does not arrive into a void. From day one there are people to turn to — for help, or just for company.

Smart Study and the AXORA group

Smart Study is the education division of the AXORA group. The site operator and your contracting party is Axora Group s. r. o., a Slovak company with an office in Bratislava. Legal matters for students and parents — residence permits, family reunification, diploma recognition, legalisation — are handled by the lawyers of AXORA Legal, so you do not need to look for a separate attorney.
